Research postgraduate students undertake exchange visit to UK
A group of RPg students from HKU sociology visited Royal Holloway, University of London on 27 June and China Center, Oxford on 1 July respectively for two doctoral workshops.
At Royal Holloway, HKU students shared their ongoing projects with and received constructive comments from students and scholars from School of Management of Royal Holloway. The fruitful discussion inspired HKU students to reflect on their theoretical framework from an interdisciplinary perspective.
At Oxford China Center, postgraduate students from HKU, Cambridge, Oxford, and KCL had a vibrant and delightful sharing and discussion of their research projects. The discussion covered a range of topics including migrant worker and service workers, digital and platform economy, and labour agency and subject-making. The doctoral workshop provided an opportunity to build international network and establish long-lasting friendships for HKU and UK students at London area.
