Biography

Bai Pengze is a full-time PhD student at HKU Sociology. He received his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Jilin University, China. At the undergraduate stage, he has been an exchange student at National Taiwan University. He obtained his master’s degree in Sociological Research from the University of Manchester, UK. Before coming to HKU, he worked as an editor in the press and later a researcher in a thinktank.

His research interests mainly focus on consumption and related issues. He is also particular interested in practice theory. Other research interests include popular culture, material culture, fashion, online shopping and social media.
